Under St Marks is perhaps my favorite theater to perform in. It is intimate but feels like a real stage. The audience is right there. Not to dis the other staples in the indie improv scene, but USM is THE place for me.
(Of course that is because Thank You, Robot has had a show there forever.)
There is a lot of history in that small basement.
If you are new to the improv scene… especially the indie scene (which is a term I dislike)… you should come. Schmooze. Chat us up. These are a bunch of teams that are always looking for new teams to perform at our shows.
If you are not new to the scene, you should come. These are a bunch of teams that work hard to keep our shows running. The scene, especially the indie scene (blech), will live and die by those in it supporting it.
If you don’t go to this one, go to another indie show this week. One you aren’t performing in. Go and watch and laugh and don’t leave until the final black out.
