stuff. just stuff.
Nick Offerman is every bit as cool as the character he plays on Park and Recreation, Ron Swanson. He parlayed his early theater construction skills into an impressive woodworking enterprise, Offerman Woodshop. While his wife was working on the Broadway production of Young Frankenstein, Offerman decided to build a canoe. He mentioned that he was an actor when he ordered the plans for the boat, and the company asked him to do create a how-to video while he built it. Offerman’s journal from the project is here. Skimming through the journal, you can’t help but like the guy. Maybe it’s because it’s refreshing to see someone in a glamorous field find personal satisfaction in something decidedly less glamorous.
